It was an intense second morning at SFS24 with a panel moderated by Giusy Meloni, who interviewed the President of Marseille, Pablo Longoria, and the President of Como, Mirwan Suwarso.

The first to speak was Longoria, who made some very important statements: “Marseille is a special environment. Our need is to continuously engage with our ownership. Obviously, sports results are essential, but at the same time, it’s important to pursue financial sustainability. At the same time, we maintain a social contract with our very large fanbase through clear communication”.

“Another important topic is television rights and media in general”, added Longoria, who also serves as Vice President of the LFP. “Last summer, Ligue 1 faced difficulties with reduced media rights. This opened a new phase of discussion to relaunch the French football product after a crisis. Our coach, De Zerbi, was surprised by the high level of a league that is still undervalued. We need to reinvent media services to create a global product targeted at young people using innovative methods and tools”.

Also noteworthy were the words of Como’s President, Suwarso: “We are working to make our brand independent from the football sector. We aim to bring people from all over the world to Como. In this sense, we have created five specific sectors. From the area dedicated to tourism, to the Como Adidas brand, through the education department, the media section with the creation of Como TV, and a channel that allows British and American audiences to watch Serie B matches for free, all the way to the production of a beer called “La Comasca”.
